What it does
Big cards, one at a time
Each card is one headline, sized to be read from across the room. Only one card turns at a time, every 3, 5, 8 or 12 seconds, so the screen changes quietly instead of all at once.
Two tickers, if you want them
Add a ticker along the top with the latest headlines, one along the bottom with a shuffled mix scrolling the other way, or both. The cards make room for them.
Full screen that stays on
Press F or the full screen button. The cursor and controls hide after a few seconds, and Keep screen awake stops the display from going to sleep.
Live, never made up
Headlines come from the same hand-picked sources as the Mac app, refreshed all day. If the connection drops, the board keeps showing the last real headlines it had.
Set it up in a minute
- Open app.feeds.bar on the computer connected to the screen.
- Start the 30-day trial, or enter the key from your purchase email if you already have FeedsBar on a Mac.
- Drag the window onto the screen you want, then press F for full screen.
- Open settings to add the tickers, change how often cards turn, pick light or dark, and turn on Keep screen awake.
Want it to come back on its own after a restart, or to run on a Raspberry Pi? The spare monitor guide covers that.
The board and the Mac app
They are one purchase. The Mac app is a slim ticker along the edge of the screen you work on, with your own feeds, a music lane and market symbols, and it has the same board built in for full screen. The browser board is for every other screen. One key covers both, and the 14-day refund applies either way.
Questions
- What is the FeedsBar board?
- A full-screen board of live headlines that runs in a web browser at app.feeds.bar. Large cards show one story each and turn over one at a time, so it can be read from across a room. You can add a scrolling ticker along the top, the bottom, or both.
- How much does it cost?
- $24.99, paid once. No subscription. There is a 30-day free trial with no card and no account, and a 14-day refund after you buy.
- Is it the same purchase as the Mac app?
- Yes. One key unlocks the board in your browser and the FeedsBar app on your Mac. Each browser or Mac you activate uses one of the key's 5 activations.
- What do I need to run it?
- A current web browser and an internet connection. Full screen and keeping the screen awake use standard browser features, so a recent Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox will do. There is nothing to install.
- Can I run it on a spare monitor or an old laptop?
- That is what it is for. Open app.feeds.bar on the computer that drives the screen, drag the window onto the spare monitor, and press F for full screen. Turn on Keep screen awake in settings so the display does not sleep.
- Does it track me?
- No. The board has no account, no analytics and no cookies. Your settings, trial date and key stay in your browser. It sends us your key to check it, a count when a trial starts and ends, and, only if you choose to give one, an email address for a single reminder the day before your trial ends.
- What does the Mac app do that the board does not?
- The Mac app runs a slim ticker along the edge of your screen while you work, takes your own RSS feeds, and adds a music lane and market symbols. The board is the full-screen reading mode, for a screen you are not working on.
